Junior Men's Short Program

Notes in order of finish
Johnny Weir
He is in first place because he tried a triple axel combo. He fell on the triple axel, but he was the only one who tried one so he is in first place. He wore a matador costume & music. He landed a triple lutz out of footwork. He did a pancake spin in his combo spin.
Benjamin Miller
He did a race car program to (I think) The Cutting Edge music. He had very fast footwork and he covered the ice really well. Good flow. He put his hand down on his triple out of footwork. He landed the triple combo and a double axel. Also did a pancake spin in his combo spin.
Daniel Lee
Landed the first clean combination of the afternoon. He underrotated and two-footed his jump out of footwork. Clean double axel. Excellent footwork. Beautiful camel spin with good extension -- he pointed his toes.
Parker Pennington
Parker skated to All That Jazz. He landed the triple lutz and a double axel. Fell on his combination. Good position in his camel spin. It started out with good speed, but lost it when he changed feet.
Evan Lysacek
Evan skated to music from 42nd Street, including tap-dance sounds. He had really good presentation, and skated well to the music. He fell on his combination, did a triple lutz out of footwork. He had a very slow camel spin.
Michael Villarreal
He did his triple combo, his triple out of footwork he did with his hand above his head a la Boitano. Stepped out of his double axel. Excellent position in his spins.
Nicholas LaRoche
Really good distance in his double axel, but blew his other jumps. He was fast and covered the ice well.
David Glynn
He did a triple/triple combo and a triple lutz. He did a double axel that had no height, and a very slow camel spin. He smiled a lot.
Michael Sasaki
Skated to the Rachmaninoff music Michelle Kwan used in `98, this music really should be reserved for her. If you can't do footwork like Michelle than you are only setting yourself up for a pale comparison. Stepped out of the triple part of the combo. Had nice spin positions but they were too slow
Victor Ehre, III
He did a triple/single combo, and fell on the lutz.
Jordan Wilson
He had a big smile throughout his program and had good presentation, unfortunately his jumps weren't there. He Doubled the jump out of footwork Two Footed an axel combo and fell on the double axel
Jason Heffron
He stepped out of a triple lutz, stepped out of the triple combination, and landed the double axel.
Joshua Murphy
He was really good in practice, with much better presentation, but I think nerves got to him, because even his presentation wasn't there. Blew Every jump, tried a triple/triple, fell on second triple. Skated to some Organ music that turned into instrumentals from Meatloaf.
