2002 Junior ladies short

Okay Marshall had to sit in my lap for the entirety of jr ladies short so I have no notes. But I didn't mind actually because I was just enjoying a wonderful competition. We have so many talented girl skaters in this country the junior ladies competitions at Nationals is always one of the best competitions you will see all year.

I have given up on trying to figure out which skater is going to be the next big thing. I am not very good at that as the San Diego Union was so kind enough to remind me recently.

Oh and while I am on that subject: any reporters who would like to use my information for their articles are free to do so. BUT the name is Antoinette Aubert and I expect to see that name next to my quotes. My lawsuit against the Union is pending! (Actually I am not the suing type but if I keep getting quoted without credit I may change my mind.)

So I am working from memory here:

Louann Donovan
I think she did a triple lutz. I know she skated with great polish. She had a lot great steps in her choreography, little dance moves and such. Very enjoyable program. I would have to say she looks like the one who most is ready to move up to seniors. Felicia Beck - Well I am going to be so redundant another enjoyable program. Music was Sing, Sing Sing, and she did great choreography very well. She also has really good spins, fabulous extension. She is a bundle of energy and charm.
Jenniffer Don
She skated the whole program with a big smile on her face and then skated in the sr. pairs short with another big smile on her face. This kid had to skate two shorts today, and she has to skate two frees on Friday. And does it with a big old smile on her face, truly amazing.
Amber Czisny
Oh wow! I am such a fan of Amber. I thought she was lovely and graceful last year, and this year she is EVEN BETTER. She is smoother her moves flow much more naturally. She is just a joy to watch. She had some problems with her loop out of steps, I think she put her hands down. Other than that it was a very nice program. She has wonderful spins.

I will have much more detailed account of the Junior Ladies Free. For those of you who don't know, we are in Anaheim now. After Nationals we rewarded Marshall for sitting still and quiet for so long with a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. My Nationals reports will be coming, BUT not in a timely manner.
